Our Principles
Tactical Mirth - A smile is the fastest-acting, purest antidote to hopelessness. And as Brendan said, “You can’t not smile at a duck.”
Safely Playful - No one gets hurt by a duck, or for a duck. Ever.
Resolutely Focused - Hopelessness claims beautiful lives all around us, every day. We do not and can not accept that.
Our Tactical Philosophy
Our ducks are dynamic, not static. They adapt to their surroundings becoming "Dragon Ducks" at Drexel or adopting other local themes to ensure they feel integrated into the lives of the people who come across them.
Our placement strategy is deliberately "Unusual." Whether placed in unusually obvious perches or unusually hidden nooks, these mischievous placements are designed to be a gentle, surprising joyful interruption to daily life.
Our work is "Curated”, it is a conscious choice to leave a mark of kindness where it is most needed to spark a smile.
Our Organizational and Financial Structure
Brendan's Ducks Unusually Curating Kind Smiles (“BDUCKS.org”) is a Texas Non Profit Corporation formed for the purpose of addressing terminal hopelessness using duck themed acts of joy.
BDUCKS.org intends to operate as both a donation funded organization, and also market merchandise to spread the message of the organization’s purpose.
